The Cotswold Water Park sits right on our patch. From the lakes it is a short hop to our Fairford workshop, around 6 miles and roughly 14 minutes, so the villages spread around the water are some of our nearest work. Pick up the A419, link onto the A417, and you are with us.
A corner of the county built around water
The Water Park spreads across a great scatter of lakes, and the B4696 Spine Road carries a steady flow of traffic through the middle of it all year. Add the boats, the trailers and the cars hauling them down to launch, and you have plenty of reversing, towing and tight turning going on. That is exactly the sort of place a clipped bumper or a scraped panel happens.
Beyond the lakes themselves, the lanes here are narrow and the verges are close. A kerbed wheel or a scuffed door is an easy thing to pick up on a busy weekend by the water.
The villages we look after
Down Ampney sits on the edge of the Water Park and is best known as the birthplace of the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. The roads in and out are quiet country lanes, the sort where a passing tractor or an awkward hedge can leave a mark down the side of a car.
Ashton Keynes has the young Thames running right through the village, crossed by a string of little footbridges. It is a pretty spot, but the tight lanes and old stone walls do not leave much room, so the odd scrape is part of village life.

Trailers, tow cars and insurance
With the lakes so close, a lot of what we see involves towing. Boat trailers take a battering and so do the cars pulling them, so bring either over and we will take a look. If the damage is going through insurance, you do not have to use whichever garage they suggest. You can choose your own repairer, and we will handle the claim for you.
Getting your car to us
Drop the car in whenever suits, or we can arrange collection and delivery if the timing is tricky. Many of the cars we sort come over from neighbouring South Cerney and Cricklade, so the lakeside roads send plenty our way.
