Witney and Fairford sit on opposite sides of the same patch of countryside, and the A40 ties them together nicely. From the bypass it is mostly one road south-west, then a short run to our Fairford workshop. For a town this size, that 28 minute drive makes us a sensible choice when your car needs proper bodywork.
A busy town that knocks its cars about
Witney never really slows down. There is the morning crawl onto the A40 bypass, the stop-start around the Bridge Street junctions, and the trade traffic piling in and out of the Windrush and Two Rivers industrial estates. Add the visitors parking up near the Buttercross and St Mary on Church Green, or heading to Cogges Manor Farm Museum, and you have plenty of tight spaces where paint meets pillar.
The usual jobs follow: a clipped bumper in a car park, a scraped door on a narrow lane, a chip flicked up on the dual carriageway. We put all of it right.
