If the mark is deeper than it looks or the panel has taken a proper knock, we will be straight with you and point you towards bumper repair or full accident and collision repair instead.
How we go about it
First we have a proper look. Some dents lift out without any paint at all, which keeps things quick and cheap. Where the paint is chipped or scratched through, we prep the area, fill if needed, then colour match and blend so the repair disappears into the panel around it. We keep most of this work local to the panel rather than spraying the whole car, so you pay for the repair and not a load of extra work you do not need.
Stops it spreading too
A scratch is not just a cosmetic thing. Once the paint is broken, water gets in and rust can start, especially over a winter. Catching it early is cheaper than letting it turn into something bigger. The same goes for chips in the paint, which we cover on our stone chip repair page.
