Swindon and Fairford are closer than a lot of people think. The A419 dual carriageway runs almost the whole way, so once you are off the roundabouts the trip up to us is a steady fifteen miles or so. That makes our Fairford workshop a sensible choice for any Swindon driver who wants a careful repair without traipsing round half of Wiltshire to find one.
A town that is hard on bodywork
Swindon has always been a motoring town. The old Honda plant put cars in the blood here, and the roads still see plenty of traffic. The Magic Roundabout alone keeps body shops in work, with its five mini roundabouts catching out anyone who hesitates at the wrong moment. Add the daily grind around Greenbridge, Dorcan and Rodbourne, the car parks at the Designer Outlet, and the tight lanes of Old Town, and you get the usual crop of knocks: a clipped bumper, a kerbed alloy, a scrape from a gatepost on a narrow street.
