Lechlade and Fairford are near neighbours. The A417 runs almost straight between the two, so the trip to our workshop is rarely more than a nine minute drive. That makes us a simple choice for anyone at the head of the Thames who would rather keep their car close to home than trail miles away for a decent repair.
A riverside town that scuffs a few bumpers
Lechlade keeps its cars on the move. There is the steady weekend trade through Market Place, the visitors heading down to Lechlade Marina and Riverside Park, and the crowds drawn by Kelmscott Manor and the antiques shops. Add the pinch points by Halfpenny Bridge, the old 1792 toll crossing, and the narrow lanes around St Lawrence Church with its tall Cotswold-stone spire, and you get the usual run of knocks.
A clipped mirror on a tight bend, a kerbed alloy near the New Inn, a trolley dent in a busy car park. None of it fazes us, and we will hand the car back looking as if nothing ever touched it.
