South Cerney is an easy run from our Fairford workshop. Take the A419 towards Cirencester, link onto the A417, and you are with us in about 16 minutes. For the largest village in Gloucestershire, sitting right on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park, we are a sensible place to bring the car when it needs sorting.
A village built around the water
Life in South Cerney revolves around the lakes. The Cotswold Water Park spreads out across roughly 140 of them, and the Spine Road carries a steady stream of traffic in and out all year. Add the boats and trailers heading down to launch, and you have plenty of towing, reversing and tight manoeuvring going on. That is exactly where a clipped bumper or a scraped panel tends to happen.
The village itself has its share of narrow spots too. The lanes around All Hallows Church and the old village cross were never built for two cars to pass easily, and Bow Wow, running alongside the River Churn, is a snug stretch. A kerbed wheel arch or a scuffed door is an easy souvenir from a busy weekend.
