The villages along the Oxfordshire border sit just the far side of the county line, but they are an easy reach from us. Head out on the A361 through Lechlade and you are at our Fairford workshop in a little over twenty minutes. For places without a body shop of their own, that is a short trip for a proper repair.
Bampton, the village off the screen
Bampton will look familiar to a lot of people, since it stood in as the village of Downton in Downton Abbey. The real place is quieter than the show, with St Mary Church at its heart and the old almshouses lining the way. It is a handsome spot, and the cars parked along its narrow streets pick up the usual close quarter knocks.
A clipped wing mirror where two cars met on a tight lane, a scrape off a stone wall, a scuff from a gatepost. We see plenty of it, and we put it right with dent, scratch and scuff repair and tidy bumper repairs.
Brize Norton and the station next door
Brize Norton gives its name to the RAF’s largest station, the air transport hub that sends and receives flights for the whole service. The village and the base sit side by side, and the military community around them is a big part of local life. Postings, shift patterns and a steady flow of vehicles all mean cars here get worked hard.
We look after a good number of drivers from around the station. A kerbed alloy, a car park scuff, a stone chip picked up on the faster runs out on the A40, it is all routine for us. After a bigger shunt, accident and collision repair brings a car back to how it should look.

Getting your car to us
Bring it in whenever suits, or we can arrange collection and delivery if your week is tight. The drive is simple: out of the villages and down the A361 through Lechlade to Fairford, or pick up the A417 from the south side. We also look after nearby Carterton and Lechlade, so you may well pass the door.
